Water coolers should be cleaned and sanitised at least every six months. Other maintenance will depend on the type of water cooler, whether it has filtration or water heating, the location and how frequency of use.

In most cases, the leak results from a tiny hole the size of a pinprick in the bottle. A leak won't occur until the water level gets below the location of the hole. You can test this by removing the water bottle from the refrigeration cooler, leaving the refrigeration tank full.
If no water drains from the cooler, the problem is with the bottle, not with the cooler.
