Bibo Counter Top Review

The Bibo Boiling and Chilled filtered drinking water system makes a fantastic addition to any kitchen that's short on undersink space. Equal parts stylish and practical, this compact bench-top system is perfect for home and office settings.

The Bibo counter top system can dispense purified boiled and chilled drinking water in an instant. Utilising seamless touch button technology, it's never been easier to preset the exact water temperature and serving volume you desire, making this system unique and versatile.

The installation requirements for this water system are fairly simple as it only requires one small inlet tube for feeding water. Replacing this system's internal water filters is a breeze, thanks to an easily accessible lid on top.

Design and function

The Bibo Boiling and Chilled Drinking Water System is one of the most stylish bench-top systems available on the market today. This compact and sleek design from Bibo comes in 10 modern colours to suit any decor.

Choose from classic colours such as silver or black. Or if you're after something more fun or in line with your company's logo and branding, the Bibo also comes in bright colours such as red, yellow, green, blue, and many more.

Plumbing required for this system is fairly simple and non-intrusive, as it only needs one feeding tube to the mains water line. Feed the inlet tubing through a small eight-millimetre hole that can be accessed from under your bench, through the wall, or even fed through the ceiling.

The filter system for this model is integrated within the top of the cabinet via a lift-off lid. With easy access to the filter, it's super easy to clean and maintain this model without the assistance of a professional.

With the touch of a button, you can effortlessly program the exact dispensing temperature and volume. This smart design also features an easy-to-clean drip tray that eliminates the need for a water waste outlet.

  • 15 litres per hour boiling water capacity
  • 5 litres per hour chilled water capacity
  • Energy-saving sleep mode that automatically powers down the unit when not in use
  • Integrated child-lock feature prevents boiling water from being dispensed
  • Screen indicator that alerts you when it's time for a filter change

Chemical filtration

This Bibo model's internal filter system removes the following from your drinking water;

  • Sediment
  • Impurities
  • Tastes & odours
  • Chlorine
  • Heavy Metals
  • Cysts (cryptosporidium, giardia)
  • Bacteria & pathogens

While this system cannot remove fluoride, all you need is an additional pre fluoride filter system under your bench to alleviate this problem.

Water quality

This compact Bibo unit maintains a hot water temperature of 96 degrees Celsius, which is just below boiling point. By simply pressing the 'boost' button, the unit will instantly heat water to boiling point while it's being dispensed.

The chilled water temperature of this unit can be set anywhere between four degrees Celsius (ice cold) to 16 degrees Celsius (ambient cold).

With a boiling capacity of 15 litres per hour, this unit can handle a reasonably high demand for tea and coffee in the office. The chilled water capacity of this unit can offer a maximum of five litres per hour.

Maintenance

The internal filter system of this Bibo model consists of a single carbon filter and UV lamp. It's recommended that the carbon filter is changed over every six months and the UV lamp every 12. Both components can be purchased online with the Bibo replacement filter pack that features two carbon filters and one UV lamp, giving you everything you need for 12 months.

Changing over the filters and UV lamp is a fairly simple task. Just make sure you follow the instructions correctly! Alternatively, you can book a specialist water filtration company (like us!) to visit your office and change over your model's components every six months.

Value for money

The Bibo Counter Top Water Filter System retails at roughly $1,496 (including full installation Australia-wide). Its pricing alone represents great value when you consider that under sink boiling/chilled taps retail at almost double the price.

The filter replacement pack retails at around $176. Again, this pricing is considerably low when you compare it to filter prices for other filters on the market.

Every purchase of this stunning counter top model from The Water People comes with a two-year warranty. A 30-day free trial in workplaces and a free return within 30 days is also included if you're not 100% satisfied with this brilliant product.

Other details

Not sure if the Bibo Counter Top Water Filter System is right for you? Here are some essential factors you should consider:

1. Do you have enough bench space? This Bibo water filter system measures at 330 mm (h) x 300 mm (w) x 350 mm (d).

2. Will the 15 litres per hour boiling capacity accommodate the demand of your office's kitchen?

3. Is there enough space underneath your kitchen bench to install an additional fluoride filter if you require one?
