Cue the drum roll, release the confetti, and prepare to be dazzled by the latest innovation in filtered water systems: The Sparkling Water Tap.
Chilled. Filtered. Sparkling. And available wherever people thirst for effervescence - your cafe, your staff room, your home kitchen.
Ice cold, refreshing, and immediate, our carbonated drinking water taps raise the bar on filtered beverages. With the press of a lever, or the touch of a button, costly, wasteful, cumbersome bottles of sparkling water are made redundant. A simple glass of water becomes celebratory, encouraging greater consumption - eight glasses a day is easy, when it feels this good. And when you feel good, you do good - at work, at play, at life.
Cost effective and environmentally friendly, sparkling water offers the dual benefit of saving money while saving the planet. And for restaurants and cafes, the potential for generating revenue - while reducing costly recycling and storage expenses - positively bubble over with possibilities.
Our most popular filtered sparkling water taps for homes are the Billi Alpine Sparkling, Zip Chilltap sparkling and the Zip Hydrotap sparkling. Apart from obvious differences in the tap designs, they also have other varied features and benefits;

The sparkling capacity will be determined by two factors: how much sparkling water you consume and the level of sparkling you choose. As the CO2 canister can be dialled up or down, this will vary from person to person.
As a guide, it takes approximately 6 grams of CO2 to produce 1 litre of sparkling water. So a 1 kilogram CO2 bottle should give you around 166 litres of sparkling. A 2.6 kilogram bottle will give you 433 litres, and 6 kilogram bottle will give you 1,000 litres.
In an average family home, it will take around six to eight months to use up a one kilogram bottle of CO2. It’s always a good idea to have a spare CO2 in reserve for when you run out. You can buy your replacement CO2 bottles from our online store.
Depending on the brand, tap style, colour and installation requirements, filtered sparkling water taps start from around $2,500 and go up from there.
Both the Billi and Zip filtered sparkling water taps come with a single sub-micron filter. This reduces dirt, sediment, bad taste, odour, cysts, heavy metals and chlorine. If you also require fluoride reduction, you can choose to add our Aquakleen Twin Fluoride filter system to the unit as well.
In order for the sparkling water to be most effective, chilled sparkling is always recommended. Both the Billi and Zip sparkling taps come with the chiller system and room temperature sparkling water is not an option.
Yes. To best way to store filtered sparkling water in your refrigerator is to use air tight glass bottles. Like the decanter style glass bottles you can purchase from homeware stores. This is a great idea for cafes, restaurants or those who wish to have it as table service or on the go.
Yes. Both the Zip and Billi filtered sparkling water taps have an adjustable CO2 dial so you can turn it up or down at any time adjusting the amount of bubble in your water.
Yes. All of our filtered sparkling water taps come with a dual lever style tap dispensing both chilled still water and chilled sparkling water.
Both the Zip and Billi brands are exceptional choices and are both Australian made. Both brands have a long track record of excellent quality and innovative designs.
Apart from the different tap styles and colour choices they offer, there are some other differences between the two. Read our article Zip V's Billi for useful information about their differences.
Your new filtered sparkling water tap can be installed over your sink either by drilling a small hole into the sink itself or into your benchtop. You can also install it as a 'stand-alone' feature with its’ own separate drain underneath the tap.
Zip taps come with a round drain font kit and the Billi taps come with a rectangular drain font kit. You can also use a drip tray if you don’t have drainage access, which is a popular option in cafés, restaurants and bars.
This depends on how much you use your filtered sparkling tap and your water quality. Generally speaking, you will need to change the filters in your home every 8 to 12 months and in a commercial setting, you will need to change them every 4 to 6 months.
There are other factors as well and we can help you understand how often you should change your filters based on your specific circumstances.
1 kilogram CO2 bottles are mostly sold in a twin pack from around $175 for the pair. This is a great idea as you have a second CO2 bottle in reserve when the first one runs out. 2.6 kilogram and 6 kilogram refillable CO2 bottles (as a swap over service) range from $55 to $85 each. Replacement filter cartridges are in the vicinity of $158 to $255 depending on the brand and filter type of your system.
Yes, you can change the filters and CO2 bottle yourself. We also have a service team who can do this for you if you prefer. Make sure you follow the manufacturer’s guidelines when changing them over to ensure they are replaced in line with their recommendations.
You need to allow for both the chiller unit and the CO2 bottle in all of our sparkling water taps. Check the individual products specifications for their undersink space requirements.
Yes. Apart from under bench size, two main considerations when choosing the right sparkling tap for your commercial needs are CO2 usage and chilling capacity.
The Billi Alpine sparkling taps are great for this use with 100 cups or 200 cups per hour chilling capacity. They are designed without the need for an internal tank reservoir, chilling the water instantly as it passes through the chiller coil, offering exceptional chilling capacity at all times. However, as they come standard with a 1 kilogram disposable CO2 bottle, we recommend you upgrade them to either a 2.6 kilogram or 6 kilogram refillable CO2 bottle, and keep a second CO2 bottle in reserve.
The Zip Hydrotap commercial sparkling tap is also a great option, with a 2.6 kilogram refillable CO2 bottle and a chilling capacity of 175 cups per hour. If you do choose the Zip Hydrotap brand, we recommend you purchase a second refillable CO2 for standby, or upgrade to the 6 kilogram refillable CO2 bottle.
